Fratte Rosa is a small town in the province of Pesaro and Urbino, in the Marche region of Italy. Perched on the top of a hill, this charming village is ideal for those seeking peace, authenticity, and natural beauty.
Known for its traditional terracotta craftsmanship, every artisan workshop tells ancient stories, where the local red clay comes to life in the skilled hands of local potters. Fratte Rosa is also a land of rich flavors, with food specialties such as the local favetta (a Slow Food legume), tacconi (a rustic pasta made with fava bean flour), high-quality olive oil, and local wines.
One of the most anticipated events of the year is the Festa della Fava di Fratte Rosa e dei Tacconi (held on the second Sunday of May), a celebration dedicated to these emblematic local products. Over the weekend, the village comes alive with tastings, live music, terracotta workshops, children's activities, mountain bike excursions, and slow food walks — offering a full immersion into local culture and tradition.
In August, Fratte Rosa transforms during the historical reenactment "Oh che bel Castello" — a journey back in time featuring torch-lit streets, banners, artisans at work, and tastings of traditional recipes, all evoking the medieval soul of the village.
